ATCF Ch 5 Part 3 – This New Classmate Seems a Bit Savage (III)

Finished with her brief self-introduction, Jiang Li glanced at Teacher He, and then returned to her position after receiving the homeroom teacher’s permission.

It was only then that the class discovered that their new classmate’s personality seemed to be quite indifferent. She seemed to be not good at communicating with others.

But that’s not the point! The point was: she just said that she lived in Qingxi County’s orphanage, and the orphan adopted by the Jiang family also came from there.

Could it be that Jiang Li was the child Jiang Ruo’s parents adopted from the orphanage?

Jiang Ruo suddenly left while clutching her stomach. Was she really sick, or was it because she couldn’t get along with Jiang Li?

Many thoughts flashed through the students’ minds. The eyes of Jiang Ruo’s fans towards Jiang Li changed, but when they remembered that this new transfer student might have a close relationship with Tong Yi, they lowered their gaze and stopped looking at her.

Jiang Li returned to her seat and found that Tong Yi had woken up. The boy was looking intently at her, as if studying an antique curio. Jiang Li thought for two seconds and came to the conclusion that the sleepy god might be hungry. After hesitating for a moment, she put the package of cut fruits she had just bought from the cafeteria on the desk and said, “You can have half.”

Tong Yi was not interested in the fruits that were no longer very fresh. He kept staring straight into Jiang Li’s eyes. It was not until she began to frown that he retracted his gaze.

However, the corner of Tong Yi’s eye kept falling on Jiang Li’s face, as if he was thinking about something.

Twenty minutes later, the class meeting was over. Teacher He then left the classroom, leaving the class for their self-study session.

Jiang Li turned to look at Tong Yi, “Is it the retaliation for me staring at you at the Academic Affairs Office?”

Tong Yi was taken aback, “What?”

Jiang Li raised her eyebrows, “Otherwise, why do you keep staring at me?”

Tong Yi: “…”

He suddenly discovered that although this new classmate seemed a bit eccentric, she was actually frank and open, which was quite cute.

After a few seconds of silence, Tong Yi asked, “Are you the girl the Jiang family adopted from the orphanage?”

Jiang Li shook her head, “I’m not adopted. I am just a distant relative of the Jiang family.”

Tong Yi frowned subconsciously. Did he overthink it?

But……

Tong Yi reached into the drawer, took out the Medical Weekly, and threw it on Jiang Li’s desk, “Look at this.”

Jiang Li’s gaze shifted to the cover of the magazine. She looked at the young man in a suit and leather shoes on the cover and asked curiously, “Does Medical Weekly also use celebrities for their cover?”

Tong Yi: “…”

He resisted his impatience and said word by word: “He is a researcher in pharmaceutical science who has just won the Lasker Prize1 last year.”

Jiang Li’s eyes lit up, “Amazing!”

She opened the magazine and was about to read the contents, but Tong Yi suddenly reached out and put his hand on the cover, “I’ll give it to you. You can take it back and read it later.”

“Thank you.” Jiang Li said sincerely.

“You don’t know the man on the cover?” Tong Yi asked.

Jiang Li was stunned for a moment, then shook her head slowly, “He looks familiar, but I’ve definitely never seen him before.”

“He is Jiang Ruo’s maternal uncle.”

When Tong Yi said this, he stared at Jiang Li intently, not wanting to miss even the smallest change in her expression.

Jiang Li was stunned for a moment, then subconsciously repeated: “Jiang Ruo’s maternal uncle?”

Jiang Ruo’s maternal uncle was this body’s maternal uncle by blood. However, this character was not mentioned in the novel. There must be a reason for such a high-specs character to have never appeared!

Jiang Li’s eyes fell on the magazine cover again. This person was not Jiang Ruo’s uncle, but this body’s original owner’s uncle, and now could barely be regarded as her uncle.

No wonder she thought this person was familiar. Because this uncle’s eyes were almost identical to the eyes that she saw in the mirror.

Jiang Li spun the pen with her fingers. The corners of her mouth rose slightly. She chose to go back to Minjiang with the Jiang family because she was still a minor. With her household registration and school registration in the hands of the Jiang family, she had no choice but to follow them back to Minjiang for the time being and then slowly plan to regain her freedom.

Fortunately, the Jiang family didn’t have the intention to announce her identity, so it would be relatively easy for her to leave the family completely in the future.

At this moment, she hadn’t found a way out yet, but now Tong Yi had brought the opportunity directly to her.

Jiang Li still didn’t know the situation of this body’s maternal family. However, considering the fact that they were able to nurture a genius who won the Lasker Award, it was impossible for them to be like the Jiang family!

And the book did not mention the female lead’s maternal relatives, which proved that the relationship between the two families was not very harmonious, and it was very likely that they had broken apart.

If so, it would be great.

Tong Yi saw Jiang Li’s obviously happy mood. Seeing the girl’s eyes seemed to be fixed on the cover of the magazine, he couldn’t help but ask, “Is he that handsome?”

Jiang Li was in a good mood now. She retracted her gaze away from the magazine, turned to Tong Yi, and asked curiously, “Do you have a complex about your look?”

When they met for the first time in the Academic Affairs Office, this boy seemed to pay special attention to other people’s evaluation of his look. “Actually, you are not bad-looking, so you don’t have to worry.” Jiang Li said seriously.

Tong Yi: …

“Although there is indeed a slight gap compared to the one on the cover.” Jiang Li added very honestly.

Tong Yi couldn’t stand it anymore. “The guy on the cover is almost thirty years old. Can I be compared with him?”

Jiang Li thought for a while, then nodded and said, “You are right! The two of you cannot be compared.”

The person on the cover showed her the possibility of leaving the Jiang family as soon as possible, so it was normal for her to see him with a beauty filter.

Tong Yi: …

This new classmate seems a bit savage!
