Eventually, Chao Muxue couldn’t resist her curiosity and took a cautious sip. Finding the taste acceptable, she finished the rest of her cup in one gulp, “It really is delicious,” she smiled, a rosy flush spread across her delicate cheeks. It was her first time drinking, and she was pleasantly surprised by the taste.

So Lu Yaoyao and Chao Muxue continued to quietly sip their drinks.
Yan Zihui and Du Qianshan, having previously experienced alcohol, were merely sipping their cup without much curiosity. On the other hand, Wen Zixing had never tasted alcohol in his two lifetimes and was drawn by the Sect Leader Bu’s enticing description. Giving in to curiosity, he took a few tentative sips and soon finished the entire cup. Then, without warning, he suddenly collapsed onto the table, lying motionless.
“Xingxing?” The loud thud drew everyone’s attention, and Lu Yaoyao was the first to rush over.
Du Qianshan quickly helped Wen Zixing up to check his breathing, then with a puzzled expression announced, “Xingxing is drunk.”
Lu Yaoyao: “…” Scared her for nothing!
“Our wine is quite strong,” Sect Leader Bu laughed heartily, “but don’t worry, it has no adverse effects and is actually beneficial for the body.”
With Wen Zixing’s interruption, Lu Yaoyao lost her desire to stay at the banquet. “I’ll take Xingxing back,” she said, getting ready to leave.
“I’ll go with you,” Chao Muxue offered as she stood up, slightly flushed from the alcohol but still clear-minded.
“But…” Seeing their readiness to leave so soon, Sect Leader Bu hesitated but didn’t want to seem forceful.
“Since you all have had quite a bit to drink, perhaps it’s best to rest now to avoid any impropriety,” Yan Zihui suggested, then apologized to the Sect Leader, “My junior brother and sisters have to retire. I’m sorry for their behavior.”
Since Yan Zihui had said so, Sect Leader Bu couldn’t persuade them to stay and instructed several disciples to escort them back.

The pleasantries continued. Yan Zihui and Du Qianshan stayed at the banquet while Lu Yaoyao and Chao Muxue left with Wen Zixing, who was supported by two Tianyan Sect disciples.
As Lu Yaoyao watched the oblivious Wen Zixing sleeping soundly, she remarked with a loud sigh, “So this is what they mean by ‘down with one cup’!”
Chao Muxue giggled amusedly, surprised that Wen Zixing couldn’t handle his liquor. In a sense, he was actually a good drunkard because he would just fall asleep without causing trouble—very easy to take care of!
They successfully brought Wen Zixing back to his room in the guest courtyard, where he lay unconscious on the bed, snoring loudly. After ensuring he was settled, they left the room.
“Thank you for your help,” Chao Muxue smiled at the two Tianyan disciples.
The disciples replied somewhat sheepishly, “It’s our duty. Is there anything else we can help with?”
“No, that’s all. Thank you.” She declined their offer to stay and help, then sent them off before turning to Lu Yaoyao.
“Yaoyao, are you drunk?”
“Nope, not at all!” Lu Yaoyao shook her head. She felt clear-headed, without any signs of drunkenness. A warm and pleasant flush remained on her cheeks, making the liquor aftereffects comforting.
“What about you, Muxue? Are you drunk?”
“I don’t know…” Chao Muxue blinked. What does being drunk feel like? It was her first time drinking, so she had no idea. ”
Lu Yaoyao figured Chao Muxue was slightly tipsy and suggested, “Let’s go back to our rooms to rest. The banquet doesn’t look like it will end anytime soon; I think we don’t need to wait for Senior Brother Zihui and Qianshan.”
“Okay.” Chao Muxue agreed, and they each returned to their rooms. It wasn’t very late, but perhaps due to the alcohol, Lu Yaoyao soon felt sleepy and, despite wanting to wait up for Yan Zihui and Du Qianshan, she fell asleep quickly and didn’t wake until morning.

“You’re the little kid, you’re the one who’s going to get spanked!” Lu Yaoyao retorted, hands on hips. “I’m older than you, you’re the little brother here!”
Wen Zixing placed his hand atop Lu Yaoyao’s head, comparing her height to his thigh, and smirked without saying a word.
Fuming, Lu Yaoyao gritted her teeth—Just wait, once she reaches the Nascent Soul stage, she will reshape her body and transform into a tall, beautiful, and elegant lady!
Yan Zihui and the other two watched from the sidelines, enjoying the banter between Lu Yaoyao and Wen Zixing, who frequently bickered like old foes.
After enjoying the show, Yan Zihui steered the conversation back on track. “Alright, let’s not forget we have serious matters to attend to. We shouldn’t keep others waiting too long.”
Lu Yaoyao and Wen Zixing exchanged glances and huffed, turning their heads away.
As they walked out of the guest courtyard, the disciples guarding the gate greeted them respectfully. “The Sect Leader has instructed us to invite all senior brothers and sisters to the main hall for a meeting.”
Yan Zihui smiled, “Thank you, junior brothers, for leading the way.”
Led by the two disciples, the group made their way to the main hall, where only Sect Leader Bu and his chief disciple Bu Yang were present with no sign of the other elders.
“Have our martial nephews and nieces arrived? Did you rest well last night?” Bu Biekuang greeted them with a smile.
Yan Zihui and the others cupped their hands. “Thanks to your concern, we all rested very well.”
After exchanging pleasantries, Bu Biekuang quickly turned to the matter at hand. “I’ve sought assistance from Guiyuan Sect due to unusual occurrences at the core of Yanhuo Mountain…”
