Lin Jiu froze. When she read the novel, she could never remember the complex place names, but she did have some impression of the Qianqi Pass because Wei Liang had just mentioned it yesterday.

Back then, the Wang family abandoned their defense of Qianqi Pass in order to preserve their strength, allowing the devils to drive straight in and advance all the way to Yunshui Plain. They marched unimpeded, like a sharp blade piercing deep into the territory of the human.

‘Can you find the yang plant of the Aura Conduit Stalk at Qianqi Pass?’ She muttered silently.

“Speaking of the Stalactite Spiritual Essence, do you know where the Wang family’s twenty-three Great Sword Immortals have gone?” Wei Liang suddenly asked, his tone nonchalant.

Although his question came out of nowhere, Lin Jiu almost wanted to slap the buzzer in her hurry to answer. ‘I know this! I have the spoiler!’

The Wang family had a prodigious youth who, by sheer luck, stumbled upon an ancient secret realm within the devil race’s territory. Entering a secret realm was always a gamble; there was no way of knowing if it held priceless treasures or just worthless debris. As fate would have it, the mechanisms and seals outside this particular realm perfectly corresponded with an ancient journal the Wang family had safeguarded for thousands of years.

As a result, they could immediately confirm that this wasn’t just any ordinary secret realm. It was the relic left by Huang Chuan, the first and only person to ascend to immortality twelve thousand years ago!

The Wang family’s twenty-three Great Sword Immortals had forsaken even the defense of the Stalactite Spiritual Essence to rush to Huang Chuan’s secret realm, hoping to be the first to break through its outer defenses.

What did ascending to immortality mean? For cultivators, it was the ultimate goal, the dream that drove them to madness! Although the Wang family’s influence was widespread, with roots in every corner of the Tianyuan Continent, they still had to bow their proud heads before the Sword Monarch Wei Liang. However, once they managed to help one of their own ascend first, the Wang family could finally seize the title of ‘Leader of the Righteous Faction’ from Wei Liang’s grasp.

Their ambition to dominate the cultivation realm could no longer be suppressed.

According to the plot of the novel, when the Wang family opened the secret treasure, they would discover that the Huang Chuan Secret Realm was surrounded by a special restriction that allowed only cultivators below the Soul Transformation stage to enter. In other words, the highest cultivation level permitted inside was the peak of the Nascent Soul stage.

In the novel, Liu Qingyin, aware that Wei Liang had been stuck at the Great Ascension stage for years without a way to break through, was determined to help him. She willingly lowered her cultivation back to the Nascent Soul stage in order to enter the secret realm. In the end, she obtained the secret realm’s legacy after defeating countless powerful enemies, paving the way for their future ascension. Deeply moved and filled with guilt, Wei Liang broke through his bottleneck and decided to dual cultivate1 with her, helping her regain her peak.

Already knew the spoilers until the ending, Lin Jiu felt no surprise. She peeked at Wei Liang’s solemn expression, unsure whether to feel joy or worry. The various traps, mechanisms, solutions, rewards, and even the true nature of Huang Chuan himself… everything about the secret realm unfolded in her mind like an exam for which she already knew all the answers.

Unfortunately, she still wasn’t strong enough.

Hmm? No, wait! An idea suddenly sprouted in Lin Jiu’s mind—if she could unlock the eight outer petals of the Karma Lotus and gain the ultimate technique that could kill a Nascent Soul cultivator in one strike, wouldn’t she become invincible in the Huang Chuan Secret Realm?

Once that thought took hold, it refused to be suppressed. After all, the female lead sought the ascension method, which had nothing to do with what she wanted. ‘As long as I avoided Liu Qingyin and snatched the true treasure of the secret realm, the True Illusion Mirror…’ Well, just the idea alone made her shiver with excitement!

Wei Liang noticed the gleam in her eyes and narrowed his own slightly. “What are you thinking about?” When he wasn’t messing around with her, his voice was calm and icy.

Lin Jiu looked up and met his piercing, jet-black eyes. Her heart skipped a beat, but she forced herself to remain calm. “Weren’t you asking me to guess where the Wang family’s twenty-three Great Sword Immortals have gone?”

“Oh?” Wei Liang’s gaze lazily lingered on her face.

Lin Jiu returned his gaze with a sly smile. “The Stalactite Spiritual Essence is the Wang family’s foundation. If they’re willing to abandon even that, there can only be one reason—they’ve found a clue for ascension.”

“And then?” Wei Liang’s lips curled slightly.

“Then what?” She asked back, puzzled.

Wei Liang’s eyes darkened. “Wang Hantan didn’t tell you anything else?”

It took Lin Jiu a moment to remember who Wang Hantan was.

‘Oh, isn’t he that wretched playboy who holds onto Zheng Ziyu’s undergarments?’

‘Wait, what does Wei Liang mean by this? Why does he seem… jealous?!’ A shiver ran down her spine. For some reason, she felt like she had accidentally triggered some deadly side quest!

No way, no way! This is a female-centered cultivation story, not some male-centered harem drama! A side character does not need the male lead getting jealous on her behalf!’ Lin Jiu roared internally with a fierce will to survive. After a moment, she scoffed, “Why would I need someone else to tell me something so obvious? What could a useless scoundrel like Wang Hantan possibly know? I’ve never even spoken to him.”

Wei Liang narrowed his eyes slightly, his expression unreadable. “We will go to Qianqi Pass first to search for clues. After obtaining the yang plant of the Aura Conduit Stalk to help you form your Golden Core, we’ll head to the Huang Chuan Secret Realm… to kill people and plunder the treasure.”

“…” Lin Jiu remained silent. ‘Nice job, male lead. You sound very villainous.’

However, it was clear Wei Liang didn’t know that the secret realm had a restriction on cultivation levels, which meant he wouldn’t be able to enter. A mischievous thought arose in Lin Jiu’s mind, and she pretended to sigh, “With you taking action, flattening a mere secret realm would be very easy.”

“Oh, naturally.” The man replied with a nonchalant smile. With a casual wave of his wide sleeve, he shielded Lin Jiu from the fierce winds.
