WUML Ch 24 Part 8 – Lotus Shatter (VIII)

Wei Liang shook his head lightly. “Clan Head Wang, you misunderstand. Today, I’m not here to drive you away, but rather… to kill you.”

He had already struck before even finishing his words.

“Form the battle array!” Wang Minglang reacted quickly. With his command, the six formed the Wang family’s strongest sword array—the Seven Stars.

Wang Minglang was now certain that the six missing Great Sword Immortals had all died at the hands of Wei Liang. There was no way he could have faced all six of them head-on without being injured. He must have ambushed and assassinated them one by one when their guard was down after breaking the barrier.

The thought that the power he had painstakingly preserved was halved in an instant made Wang Minglang’s heart bleed. His eyes reddened with fury as he shouted, “You arrogant wretch! Do you think our Wang family is a cripple?!”

Unfortunately, there were only six of them left, greatly weakening the power of the Seven Star Array. As a result, Wang Huazang, the one with the highest cultivation, had to control two nodes by himself.

Wei Liang’s figure flashed midair, his jade-like hand pressed against the three sword tips. In the next moment, blood—pure and vibrant blood essence—gushed out of his mouth. In his rush to eliminate the six before they could reunite and fully form the Seven Stars Sword Array, Wei Liang had already given everything. Now, in facing the slightly weakened array of six, his efforts, in fact, were also harming himself.

The next moment, a fierce wind rose from the ground, sweeping away a meter-depth layer of soil. The surrounding trees were uprooted in an instant, whistling as they shattered and scattered in all directions.

“Wei Liang!” Wang Minglang roared from within the array, “Your sword intent is destroyed, and you can’t even use any sword moves. How dare you challenge our Wang family?! Today will be your death and tomorrow, the Wang family will unite all its power to destroy your Wanjiangui Sect!”

Who would fear a Sword Monarch who couldn’t unleash a single sword move?!

Suddenly, snow began to fall.

Snowflakes drifted down gently, at first light and soft, but soon turning into large, heavy flakes.

“What on earth…”

In Dayu Region, the climate was always hot and humid, and there had never been any snowfall in recorded history.

“Intent!” Wang Minglang’s hair stood on end. “It’s a devil’s Intent! Wei Liang has fallen into a devil cultivator!”

In that instant, fear gripped their hearts. The thought of the leader of the righteous faction descending into the devil’s path was utterly terrifying! That he dared to reveal his ultimate trump card in front of so many people only meant he had ruthlessly decided to leave no living witness!

“Give it everything! Kill this monster!” Wang Minglang gripped his sword with both hands, and a golden dragon sword aura rippled out from the tip. This was the Wang family’s ultimate technique—Dragon’s Roar in the Ninth Heaven.

Seeing their clan head use his ultimate move, no one dared to hold back any longer. They all unleashed their most powerful skills. At that moment, amidst the blinding snow, dragon roars and tiger growls filled the air. Sword auras surged like waves and mountains, crashing down upon the slender figure with overwhelming force.

Wei Liang’s bloodstained lips curved into a sinister smile. He floated midair, raising his arms slightly.

The swirling snow instantly turned blood-red! He didn’t dodge or retreat, instead rushing forward to meet the Wang family’s lethal strikes, his body wrapped in the blood-soaked snow as he collided head-on!

Meanwhile, on the other side, the remaining eleven Great Sword Immortals had gathered around Wang Weizhi, working together to unlock the last barrier. The air began to ripple, and the ground cracked open, revealing a multi-colored circular portal. However, within seconds, it gradually vanished once more.

“The entrance isn’t here; split up and search!” An elder gave the order. “Once you find it, send out a smoke signal immediately!”

Excitement gleamed in the eyes of the sword immortals, their hearts unable to suppress the surge of greed. If any of them found the entrance first, they certainly wouldn’t inform their fellow clan members, and even less likely would they foolishly rush to report it to the clan head.

Only Wang Weizhi, the Wang family’s top young prodigy, remained calm—a sarcastic smile playing on his lips. He sheathed his sword and walked slowly toward the restriction that Wang Huazang was in charge of.

Huang Chuan was an ancient figure who lived ten thousand years ago, but many of his deeds are still remembered to this day. Though he had ascended to immortality, he had not broken through the void to leave the mortal world, instead wandering it and performing many good deeds. He had also chosen numerous young talents to teach with care. Sadly, when his ultimate tribulation struck, not one of his thousands of disciples had the strength to stand by his side. Though he survived the tribulation on his own, his cultivation was destroyed, along with his immortal body.

As he departed from the world, he had once uttered in despair, “Huang Chuan has traveled the ends of the earth but could not find a single person of use.”

If this secret realm was what he left behind before his demise…

Wang Weizhi was absolutely certain that this secret realm would reward useful people with outstanding abilities. Therefore, the final entrance was most likely to appear wherever the barrier was first broken! As he watched his fellow clan members dart off in all directions, a trace of sarcasm flickered across his handsome face, his thin lips curving slightly.

As Wang Weizhi hurried along, the entrance to the secret realm suddenly opened right beside the barrier that Wang Huazang had broken!

Mushroom Lin Jiu watched in astonishment as a thirty centimeters wide, multicolored portal on the ground slowly ‘stood up’ like a mirror, hovering above the fallen branches and leaves. When the wind blew, its hues swayed gently, creating an otherworldly, ethereal spectacle.

‘It’s open! It’s open!’

The novel didn’t go into much detail about the opening of the secret realm, using only words like ‘magnificent,’ ‘captivating,’ and ‘breathtaking.’ Now that it unfolded before her eyes, Lin Jiu found herself at a loss for words. How could she describe it? It was as if the entire universe was concentrated beyond that tiny portal. Vibrant galaxies peeked through the small opening, offering a glimpse of their boundless beauty.

A tall figure, draped in red and white, quickly approached. Lin Jiu only needed a glance to recognize him as the Wang family’s young prodigy—Wang Weizhi.

He was draped in a luxurious white garment, with intricate red silk embroidery adorning the hem, sleeves, and lapels of his outer robe. His hair was pulled back into a high ponytail and secured with a red band that matched his belt. The young man’s handsome features were sharp and commanding, exuding an air of arrogance and aloofness. His thin lips, tightly pressed into a firm line, radiated unwavering determination.

“As expected,” Wang Weizhi muttered. After a quick scan of his surroundings, he wasted no time and dashed toward the secret realm’s entrance.

For a moment, his figure vanished into the multi-colored portal, but almost immediately, he was ejected in a disheveled state.

“Those above the Nascent Soul stage can’t enter?” Wang Weizhi furrowed his thick brows. After a moment of thought, a smirk tugged at the corner of his lips. He formed a hand seal with his left hand and viciously struck several points on his body.

In an instant, he spat out a mouthful of thick blood. After taking a moment to catch his breath, he leaped into the secret realm once more.

This time, the realm accepted him.

Mushroom Lin Jiu couldn’t help but click her tongue in admiration. This young man was truly extraordinary—sharp-witted and decisive. If he weren’t so bewitched by Liu Qingyin’s female lead halo, he would undoubtedly achieve great things in the future!

Translator’s Note:
A bit random, but this author really likes mushroom. In one of their novels, the object of MC’s revenge was a mushroom (the soul of her enemy accidentally stranded into a mushroom), in another novel, the MC is a mushroom, figuratively speaking.
