Not long after, another Wang family’s Great Sword Immortal arrived, flying in on his sword. Like Wang Weizhi, he charged straight at the entrance, only to be mercilessly thrown back.
“Those above the Nascent Soul stage can’t enter?!” He gritted his teeth, ramming into the barrier several more times before finally giving up.
His eyes gleamed with calculation as he rubbed his palms together. “That useless third son of mine might actually be of some use. Very well, I’ll go inform the clan head. Since I was the first to discover the entrance, I’ll request a favor—let my son be the first to enter the secret realm. That shouldn’t be too difficult.”
With that, he summoned his sword again and swiftly flew northward.
‘No wonder you are just an unnamed extra!’ Mushroom Lin Jiu mocked silently, adjusting her mushroom cap and lazily stretching.
‘Why hasn’t Wei Liang arrived yet?’ she wondered, slightly concerned. At his current strength, Wei Liang could probably take down a dozen Great Sword Immortals in mutual destruction, but if he were to become entangled in a fight, the Wang family surely wouldn’t let him leave alive.
‘If Wei Liang died… that would not end well for me, too.’ She muttered silently.
While her thoughts wandered, two familiar figures suddenly appeared in Lin Jiu’s field of vision—Qin Yunxi and Liu Qingyin. She wasn’t surprised to see Liu Qingyin. The female lead was a favorite child of heaven, destined to be surrounded by fortune and opportunities. Finding the entrance to the secret realm so quickly was only natural.
‘…No, wait!’ A sudden realization struck Lin Jiu. Based on Wang Weizhi’s demeanor and his reaction earlier, it was clear he hadn’t made any agreements with anyone, let alone sought cooperation with Qin Yunxi.
‘So, Qin Yunxi had lied! But why would he lie?’
Lin Jiu’s heart skipped a beat. If he hadn’t lied, there would be no way to explain how he knew about such a hidden secret as Huang Chuan’s secret realm, let alone its precise location.
‘Reincarnation or transmigration—confirmed!’ Her thoughts raced. If he had been reborn, then this Qin Yunxi was not the original one, but rather someone who had experienced the later events of the plot and was now reincarnated into the body of the vegetative Qin Yunxi. After all, the real Qin Yunxi was supposed to have died and couldn’t possibly know what happened afterward.
Lin Jiu started feeling a little nervous—‘What on earth is going on with this person?’
The two figures gradually drew closer until they finally stopped before the entrance to the secret realm. Liu Qingyin’s lifeless eyes slowly shifted. Her lips parted slightly with difficulty, as if she had forgotten how to speak. “The Huang Chuan Secret Realm?” she whispered, her voice hoarse.
“Yes,” Qin Yunxi gazed down at her, his eyes a storm of intense and complicated emotions.
“There might be a legacy for ascension inside,” Liu Qingyin forced a smile, her lips curling slightly. “If I had heard this news a few days ago, I don’t know how happy I would have been.”
“Qingyin, pull yourself together.” Qin Yunxi raised his hand, placing it on her shoulder. His movements were perfectly natural, as if he had done this intimate gesture countless times before. “The Huang Chuan legacy can only be gained by entering the secret realm in person; otherwise, I would have fetched it for you.”
A trace of annoyance flashed through Liu Qingyin’s beautiful eyes. She stepped back, letting his hand slide off her shoulder. “Eldest Senior Brother, you don’t need to do this for me. I appreciate your kindness, but I don’t want any rumors between us.”
A look of pain flickered across Qin Yunxi’s face. He looked at her pale and haggard face and asked quietly, “Do you love Wei Liang?”
Liu Qingyin looked as though she had just been insulted. Her eyes reddened with a mix of anger and hurt as she stubbornly retorted, “Are you mocking me, too? Yes, I love him, and it’s a love I can never have. Is that what you wanted to hear? Are you satisfied now?!”
Qin Yunxi gently shook his head. “That’s not what I meant.”
Liu Qingyin responded with a cold sneer.
Qin Yunxi asked again, “What is it that you love about Wei Liang?”
Suppressing her anger, Liu Qingyin said, “He is my master—my savior and benefactor. Without him, I wouldn’t be who I am today.”
Qin Yunxi’s eyes flickered. “As far as I know, you didn’t interact with him much. Wei Liang only cares about the world, the Dao, and all living beings. Most of your training and sword lessons came from your senior brothers and sisters. In all these years you have stayed in Wanjiangui, how many words have you actually exchanged with him?”
Liu Qingyin took a deep breath, “Eldest Senior Brother, you don’t understand the relationship between Master and me.”
“No, you’re wrong. I do understand,” Qin Yunxi’s eyes were filled with sorrow. “That’s why I need to ask: What is it that you truly love? Is it Wei Liang the person? The title of Sword Monarch, or his role as your Master? Or is it simply the obsession with something you can never have?”
Upon hearing this, Liu Qingyin could no longer suppress her emotions. Tears streamed from her eyes as she shouted at Qin Yunxi, “Eldest Senior Brother, you’re despicable! How can you use such twisted thinking to question my feelings for Master?! Let me tell you, Qin Yunxi—whether or not he is the best in the world, whether his cultivation is destroyed or he falls from grace to quagmire, I will still love him! And you, Qin Yunxi, do you even know what it means to copy a tiger but end up drawing a dog? That’s exactly what you are! You think that by copying his every move, I would fall for you? Impossible! Never! These past few days of traveling with you, watching you mimic him, I’ve held back again and again, but I can’t stand it any longer!”
Qin Yunxi suddenly reached out and grabbed her shoulders. As Liu Qingyin struggled, he pushed her against the old tree behind her—directly above Mushroom Lin Jiu.
Qin Yunxi’s eyes were bloodshot, his low voice was laced with suppressed emotions, “If you truly love Wei Liang, then why do you fail to see that he’s standing right in front of you?!”
Before Liu Qingyin could respond, he suddenly leaned in and kissed her.
“..!!!” The stunned Mushroom Lin Jiu: ‘Kabedon kiss! It’s a live Kaledon kiss!’1
Qin Yunxi suddenly let out a muffled grunt. When he lifted his head, his lower lips were bitten, gushing out bright red blood. “Qingyin, can’t you recognize me?” He laughed bitterly. “I am Wei Liang!”
