WUML Ch 3 Part 2 – “Wei Liang, oh Wei Liang.” (II)

Liu Qingyin’s eyes lit up, and she immediately knelt on one knee. “Thank you, Master! Please be careful on your journey.”

“Mm.” Wei Liang grabbed Lin Jiu by the wrist and led her out of Qin Yunxi’s abode.

Bathed in the moonlight, the tall figure in the bright red wedding robe resembled a celestial being—radiant, majestic, and flawless. His strides were long, and Lin Jiu had to jog to keep up with him. From afar, the red-clad pair—him towering and her petite—did resemble a celestial couple.

“Junior sister, you don’t think Master is really captivated by that woman, do you?” After the pair disappeared into the dark night, Wei Liang’s second disciple muttered, twitching his lips. “Wasn’t Master reluctant to marry her?”

“How would I know?” Liu Qingyin whispered, biting her cherry-colored lip in frustration.

The fourth-ranked disciple stepped forward, squeezing between his senior brother and junior sister, shaking his head meaningfully. “Second Senior Brother, you’re mistaken. Master’s expression is always as cold as Eldest Senior Brother’s cold jade bed. How do you know if he’s unwilling or not?”

“True,” the second disciple scratched his head. “We just feel sorry for Master, that’s all. Maybe he’s secretly been planning to take her as a wife… Huh? Junior Sister, what’s wrong? Junior Sister, don’t leave! Junior Sister!”

But Liu Qingyin had stepped on her sword and flew into the foggy nightscape.

At the same time, Wei Liang and Lin Jiu reached the suspension bridge. With him still gripping her wrist, the pair slowly crossed the shaky bridge, taking it one step at a time. Lin Jiu, filled with tension, reached out with her free hand to grasp Wei Liang’s sleeve, carefully mirroring his every step.

Once across the bridge, they made it to the bridal chamber in no time. Lin Jiu tilted her face up to Wei Liang and smiled brightly, ”Thank you for bringing me back. You can go ahead and take care of your business. Don’t worry about me—just take your time.”

Wei Liang gave her a perplexed look. “Who said I’m leaving tonight?”

With that, he closed the door behind them and scooped Lin Jiu up in his arms, carrying her bridal-style toward the brightly decorated bed.

Lin Jiu: “???!!!”

With a gentle toss, she landed on the soft quilt, and before she could voice a single protest, the groom was already leaning over her. His arms landed on the mattress, trapping her inside. His heavy body and domineering presence were like a solid cage, leaving her with no way to escape.

Lin Jiu’s panicked face was caught between the bright red mattress and her jet-black hair, her wide eyes fixed on Wei Liang’s handsome face as it drew closer.

His eyes narrowed slightly, and his thin lips parted.

‘Is he going to kiss me?!’ Lin Jiu’s terror instantly doubled, and she anxiously exclaimed: “No, Wei Liang, wait! Think it through! Haven’t you seen what kind of person my mother is? If we really consummate our marriage, she’ll cling to you even more, just like a dog-skin plaster! You will never get rid of her for the rest of your life!”

“Hmm?” Wei Liang paused slightly, then replied nonchalantly, “Oh, right. My mother-in-law is still staying at the foot of the mountain with my brother-in-law, aren’t they? I should pay them a visit before heading out tomorrow.”

The mother and son pair of the Lin family had stayed at Wanjiangui Sect to seek benefits from Wei Liang. In the original plot, they would soon cause a huge scene at Qin Yunxi’s funeral, forcing Wei Liang to agree with their demands. Not only was he forced to give them a large amount of spirit stones and spiritual pills, but he also sent his fourth disciple to escort the pair back to Dongting, merging three sects and helping Lin Qiu’s younger brother, Lin Dong, become the sect leader.

Because of this, Lin Qiu was despised even more at Wanjiangui Sect. Shortly afterward, she was exposed for drugging and framing Liu Qingyin, causing Wei Liang to send her back to Dongting. The official explanation was that the madam, concerned about her family, had returned home to assist her younger brother and planned to stay for a few years.

Lin Jiu originally planned to take advantage of the disturbance Lin Qiu’s mother and younger brother would cause tomorrow to leave Wanjiangui Sect with them, escaping far away from the main couple. But she didn’t expect that Qin Yunxi, who was supposed to be dead, had survived. Even more alarming, Wei Liang seemed determined to bed her!

‘What a mess!’

“My mother is a very greedy person; very, very greedy!” Lin Jiu said earnestly, trying her best to push back Wei Liang’s encroaching chest. “You can’t even measure the extent of her greed. She’ll soon ask you for a huge amount of spirit stones and demands that you help Lin Dong rise to power—and that’s just the beginning. I will only bring you endless troubles!”

“I don’t mind,” Wei Liang seemed genuinely unconcerned. “Whatever she wants, I’ll give it to her.”

The next instant, his lips met hers.

Lin Jiu gasped, her words cut short. She didn’t dare to utter a single word. Her instincts warned her that if she opened her mouth at this moment, Wei Liang would devour her without mercy.

‘What a liar!’ She screamed inside. A man’s words are always deceiving! If Wei Liang were truly that generous, he wouldn’t have later stood by and done nothing when the Lin family was eventually destroyed!

Wei Liang held Lin Jiu close, with one arm around her back and his other hand gently cradling the back of her head. His kiss did not come as forceful; instead, he exhibited the patience of a skilled hunter, waiting for the prey to take the bait of her own accord.

The man’s breath was as cold as frost, carrying faint hints of a chilly fragrance as it came into contact with Lin Jiu. As their breaths mingled and intertwined, Lin Jiu gradually felt a sense of lightness.

After what seemed like forever, Wei Liang finally relaxed his hold on her and shifted to one side, releasing a soft chuckle.

Not until that moment did Lin Jiu notice her back was drenched in sweat. Her inner garment clung to her skin, causing her to shudder with discomfort. She tilted her head cautiously to glance at Wei Liang, only to see that he was laughing. The devilishly handsome man covered his eyes with his hand, his chest trembling slightly as he let out a low, muted laugh.

“Wei Liang, oh Wei Liang,” he chuckled. His cool voice, slightly hoarse and deep, was incredibly captivating and seductive.

Lin Jiu snuck another cautious glance at him, not daring to move. Suddenly, Wei Liang removed his hand from his eyes and, with a natural motion, pulled her into his embrace.

“I will treat you well,” he whispered.

Lin Jiu’s whole body tensed up—‘No way! Is he going to do it again?!’

With another chuckle, Wei Liang flipped her over and helped her sit upright with her legs crossed. His cool palm pressed against her back as he slowly channeled aura into her meridian, aiding her advancement.

“I could tell earlier that you hit a bottleneck,” he said, his tone somewhat lazy.

Lin Jiu’s heart skipped a beat; her whole body turned stiff. There was no mention of the Karma Lotus in the original plot, but according to common sense, an object possessing such tremendous power, which relies on the malevolence of others for sustenance, would unquestionably be designated as an evil artifact, making its host an enemy of the righteous faction.

‘Please, please, don’t let Wei Liang notice anything out of the ordinary!’

As if he could hear her inner scream, Wei Liang suddenly spoke, “Ah, so that’s how it is.”
