Q: What are advanced chapters? 

A: Advanced chapters offer early access to my stockpiled content. By subscribing to a tier on ko-fi, you can read chapters ahead (up to six weeks ahead) of those on my blog. For example, if you subscribe to Tier X, which offers two advanced chapters (one week ahead), you will always be one week ahead of the public (blog readers).

 

Q: Why do you split the chapters into parts? It’s not a chapter anymore.

A: To maintain consistency. I update twice weekly, and I aim to have each release around 1200-1500 english words. The original chapters are vary in length, so I have to split it. When I say xx advanced chapters, that means my regular released ‘chapter’ aka part instead of a raw full chapter.

 

Q: How do I access advanced chapters?

A:

1. Create a Ko-fi account and a Gmail account if you don’t have one.
2. Visit my Ko-fi page at https://ko-fi.com/koffeam and click on “Membership.”
3. Choose the tier you want to subscribe to.
4. If the email you used to register on Ko-fi isn’t a Gmail account, please provide a Gmail address in the comments or send me a private message so I can grant you access to the Google Drive folder.
5. I will manually grant you access to the Drive folder where the advanced chapters are stored. Please be patient as I work on this as quickly as possible.
6. Accept the invitation and open the Google Drive folder. You will receive a notification via email.
7. Enjoy the chapters! (Please note that all files are read-only; you cannot edit, download, or copy them.)

 

Q: How is this different from sponsored chapters?  

A: Sponsored chapters are extra releases made publicly available on my blog as a thank you to those who make one-time Ko-fi donations. Advanced chapters, on the other hand, are an exclusive feature available only to monthly subscribers.

 

Q: Why do you use Ko-fi instead of Patreon, and why Google Drive?

A: Ko-fi is simpler to use than Patreon, and handling payments through Ko-fi while using Google Drive for rewards is more efficient. Google Drive also keeps everything neatly organized compared to Ko-fi or Patreon posts.

 

Q: When are the chapters in Google Drive updated?

A: Updates occur every weekend, either on Saturday or Sunday. I will announce the update via a Ko-fi post.

 

Q: What are ‘This Week’s Public Chapters’?  

A: Since I update advanced chapters weekly, I also include the chapters scheduled for public release the following week.

For example, if next week’s release schedule is Chapter 11 Part 1 (Monday) and Chapter 11 Part 2 (Wednesday), as a Tier A member, you will receive four chapters on Sunday: Chapters 11 Part 1 and 11 Part 2 (this week’s public chapters) and Chapters 12 Part 1 and 12 Part 2 (your advanced chapters).

 

Q: Will advanced chapters eventually be released for free?  

A: Yes! All advanced chapters will eventually be released on my blog. No chapter is permanently locked.

 

Q: Do proceeds from advanced chapters count towards sponsored chapters?

A: Unfortunately, no. If you’d like to contribute towards a sponsored chapter, please make a separate one-time donation through Ko-fi.

 

Q: Can I request a refund if I subscribe to a tier?

A: Due to the nature of advanced chapters, I don’t offer refunds. However, you can cancel or change your membership tier at any time. See this page for more information.

 

Q: How do I cancel a tier?  

A: Visit this page and follow the instructions to cancel your membership. While I don’t offer refunds, you will continue to have access to your tier’s advanced chapters until the end of your billing cycle.

 

Q: I subscribed to Tier A but want to upgrade to Tier B. How do I do it?

1. Visit my Ko-fi page and subscribe to Tier B.
2. You will need to pay the full amount for Tier B. Your Tier A subscription will automatically cancel at the end of its billing cycle.
3. Contact me via email or Ko-fi message to request a manual refund.
4. I will issue a partial refund based on the remaining days of your Tier A subscription.

Example: If you subscribed to Tier A ($10) on July 1st and upgraded to Tier B ($20) on July 15th, I will refund $5 for the remaining time on Tier A. Please note that any PayPal fees that may occur on the refund are not covered.

Q: I subscribed to Tier B but want to downgrade to Tier A. How do I do it?

1. Visit my Ko-fi page and subscribe to Tier A.
2. You will need to pay the full amount for Tier A. Your Tier B subscription will automatically cancel at the end of its billing cycle.
3. Contact me via email or Ko-fi message to request a manual refund.
4. Due to the nature of advanced chapters, downgrading is treated similarly to cancellation, so the refund will be based on the cheaper tier.

Example: If you subscribed to Tier B ($20) on August 10th and downgraded to Tier A ($10) on August 25th, I will issue a partial refund of $5 (0.5 x $10). Note that PayPal transfer fees are not covered.

 

Q: Why are the rules so specific?  

A: These rules help prevent abuse. Without the no-refund policy, someone could subscribe, read all available chapters, and then cancel. Without the downgrade policy, someone could subscribe to a higher tier, read all available chapters, downgrade, and request a refund, effectively getting more content than they paid for.

 

Q: I can’t afford to donate or subscribe. How else can I support you?

A: Don’t worry! All my translations are publicly available for free, and both sponsored and advanced chapters are just additional perks. By reading on aerialrain.com instead of unauthorized sites, you’re already supporting me. Thank you!
